Gimp vs Photoshop - Many of us are asking that question. Photoshop is a program made by Adobe.
Gimp is more user friendly and takes up less of your CPU. Great if you are just starting out in graphic designing.
Photoshop has more features and great for professionals. It is a CPU hogger though.
Gimp is free while Photoshop costs BIG money. (Or get a pirated version )
IMO, I'll rather get Gimp rather than take my chances with a pirated version of Photoshop. (Not going to even think of buying it)
I also prefer Gimp's simple GUI compared to Photoshops'. Photoshop also uses up all of my CPU power so I really prefer Photoshop.
My personal choice : Photoshop.
However, if you are a professional at graphic designing or are being paid to graphic design, you should stick with Photoshop. You'll need the extra features.
This is kind of a guide to help you choose between Photoshop and Gimp so i posted it here.
